Warts and Skin Tags are two of the most common and easily treated skin conditions. Both are completely harmless, their removal being purely for cosmetic purposes. Whereas warts are caused by the H.P.V virus, more than one hundred strains of which are present in the Human body, skin tags are a random condition which have no known cause. Warts are in fact non cancerous tumors which can be found on any part of the body. They are commonly small, reddish circular bumps, often with a flatter upper surface and typically contain small white dots and are said to look life a cauliflower.
Warts can vary in size and appear on their own or as a cluster. They can also spread to other parts of the body by touch. The medical term for a Skin Tag is an Acrochordon. They are small pieces of skin which hang off the body and appear to be attached to the surrounding skin by a small stalk called a Peduncle. They can be the same color as the surrounding skin or be hyper pigmented and appear as a darker shade to the surrounding skin. Again skin tags can be found on any part of the body but are most commonly found on the eyelids, groin area and neck. Although both Warts and Skin Tags can appear at any age, Skin Tags are more common in older people and the obese. Relatively common, both Warts and Skin Tags can be easily treated either at home or by a doctor.
